Extension is one of the trilogies of functions of institutions of higher learning. It serves as a link between the College and the service area. It is likewise an arm for disseminating technologies generated and packages by institutions. Extension work hand in hand with research to ensure that technologies generated by research finds its way to the intended benefeciaries.

The Extension Service Office of the College was formally organized right after the conversion of the former Iloilo School of Arts and Trades into a chartered institution known as the Western Visayas College of Science and Technology. The first Director was Prof. Domingo S. Carreon who was succeeded by Dr. Linnie L. Layag and Mr. Edwin T. Fos respectively.
